Lacrysil "Sanitary" Acrylic Sealant is designed for sealing and caulking joints in areas with high humidity. It creates an elastic, waterproof joint with enhanced protection against mold and mildew, making it ideal for zones with constant contact with water and steam.

Recommended Applications:

  • Bathrooms, showers, saunas, steam rooms

  • Kitchens (sink area, countertops, backsplash)

  • Toilets and washrooms

  • Laundry rooms

  • Swimming pools (adjacent areas, not for permanent immersion)

  • Joints where bathtubs/shower enclosures meet walls and floors

  • Seams between sinks, toilets, bidets and walls/floors

  • Joints between ceramic tiles, porcelain stoneware, glass, PVC panels

  • Sealing around faucets, shower hoses, drains

  • Sealing joints of window sills, skirting boards, thresholds in wet areas

Suitable for these surfaces:

  • Ceramic tiles and porcelain stoneware

  • Glass and mirrors

  • Enameled sanitary ware (bathtubs, sinks)

  • Metal (aluminum, stainless steel, chrome-plated elements)

  • Plastic and PVC panels

  • Concrete, brick, plaster, drywall (after priming)

Not Recommended For:

  • Aquariums or tanks with constant water contact (special aquarium silicone required)

  • Food contact surfaces or areas with direct food exposure

  • Joints constantly submerged in water (e.g., inside a swimming pool basin)

  • Joints subject to heavy mechanical loads or constant friction

Important Recommendations Before Application:

  • Surfaces must be clean, dry, free of dust, grease, soap, old sealant, or detergents

  • It is recommended to degrease with alcohol or acetone (especially glass, metal, plastic)

  • For better adhesion on porous surfaces (concrete, plaster) — pre-prime with a deep-penetration acrylic primer

  • Do not apply to damp or wet surfaces

  • Avoid application during high humidity or rain (for exterior joints, use silicone or MS polymer instead)

Typical Usage Examples:

  • Sealing the joint between the bathtub and the wall (to prevent water seepage)

  • Sealing connections between tiles and toilets/sinks

  • Filling joints in shower enclosures (corners, seams between glass and tiles)

  • Sealing window sills in bathrooms and kitchens

  • Sealing joints between walls and skirting boards in wet areas

After full curing (24–72 hours depending on thickness and humidity), the joint can be painted with acrylic paints.
