Lacrysil "SANITARY" Silicone Sealant — Sanitary Silicone Against Mold for Bathrooms and Kitchens
High-quality sanitary silicone sealant (TM Lacrysil) — specially designed for high-humidity areas! Forms an elastic, waterproof joint with anti-fungal protection, preventing the appearance of mold and mildew.
Key Features:
Base: Silicone (acid cure/acetoxy, smells like vinegar during curing)
Color: White or Transparent
Application temperature: +5…+35 °C (optimal 0…+40 °C)
Service temperature: -40…+100 °C
Curing time: Skin formation — 20–30 min; full curing — 24–48 hours
Elasticity: High (up to 250% movement capacity)
Adhesion: Excellent to glass, ceramic tiles, enamel, metal (aluminum, primed surfaces), plastic, porcelain, concrete, wood, etc.
After curing: Waterproof, elastic, non-shrinking (shrinkage ≤5%), resistant to UV, moisture, mold/mildew; not paintable
Eco-friendliness: Environmentally friendly after curing, low odor after curing
Shelf life: 18 months (at +5…+40 °C)
Other: Density 0.98–1.0 g/cm³; high viscosity (paste-like)
Advantages:
Anti-fungal protection — ideal for areas with constant humidity
High elasticity and water resistance of the joint
Excellent adhesion to plumbing materials
Durability in wet conditions
Transparent option — invisible on glass/tiles
Applications:
Sealing joints, connections, cracks: between bathtub/shower enclosure and wall/floor, sink, toilet, tiles, glass; kitchen countertops, sinks, shower corners; sealing in bathrooms, kitchens, laundries. Suitable for interior work in damp areas (not for aquariums or food contact).
Application method: Clean surfaces from dust/grease/old sealant (acetone/alcohol), degrease, apply evenly from the tube into the joint (use a gun), smooth with a wet finger/spatula with soap. Remove excess immediately. Avoid applying to wet surfaces. Full curing — 1–2 days (do not wet the joint immediately).
Reliable protection against moisture and mold — choose Lacrysil "SANITARY" for the perfect bathroom!
Lacrysil "Sanitary" Silicone Sealant (acid cure/acetoxy type with anti-fungal additives) is specially designed for sealing and caulking joints in areas with high humidity and a constant risk of mold/mildew. It forms a highly elastic (up to 250% movement capacity), waterproof, UV-resistant, and temperature fluctuation-resistant joint with enhanced protection against microflora.
Recommended Applications:
Bathrooms, shower enclosures, saunas, steam rooms
Kitchens (sink area, countertops, backsplash, tile joints)
Toilets and washrooms
Laundry rooms
Swimming pools (adjacent areas, not for permanent immersion inside the basin)
Joints where bathtubs/shower enclosures meet walls and floors
Joints between sinks, toilets, bidets, hygiene showers and walls/floors
Seams between ceramic tiles, porcelain stoneware, glass, PVC panels
Sealing around faucets, shower hoses, drains, traps
Sealing joints of window sills, skirting boards, thresholds in wet areas
Filling joints in areas with high humidity and steam
Suitable for these surfaces:
Ceramic tiles and porcelain stoneware
Glass and mirrors
Enameled sanitary ware (bathtubs, sinks, toilets)
Metal (aluminum, stainless steel, chrome-plated elements)
Plastic and PVC panels
Concrete, brick, plaster, drywall (after priming)
Not Recommended For:
Aquariums or tanks with constant water contact (special aquarium silicone required)
Food contact surfaces or areas with direct food exposure
Joints constantly submerged in water (inside swimming pool basins, fountains)
Surfaces subject to heavy mechanical loads or constant friction
Joints requiring painting after curing (silicone is not paintable — use acrylic sealant for paintable joints)
Important Recommendations Before Application:
Surfaces must be clean, dry, free of dust, grease, soap, old sealant, or detergents
It is recommended to degrease with alcohol or acetone (especially glass, metal, plastic, enamel)
For better adhesion on porous surfaces (concrete, plaster, brick) — pre-prime with a deep-penetration acrylic primer
Do not apply to damp or wet surfaces
Avoid application during high humidity or rain
Has a characteristic vinegar odor during application (acid cure type) — work in a ventilated area or outdoors
Odor disappears after curing; the joint becomes completely safe
Typical Usage Examples:
Sealing the joint between the bathtub and the wall (to prevent water from seeping behind the tub)
Sealing connections between tiles and toilets/sinks/bidets
Filling joints in shower enclosures (corners, seams between glass and tiles)
Sealing window sills in bathrooms and kitchens
Sealing connections between walls and skirting boards/thresholds in wet areas
Filling joints around faucets, shower heads, drains
Sealing seams between ceramic tiles and glass/mirrors
After full curing (24–48 hours depending on layer thickness and humidity), the joint becomes waterproof and resistant to mold/mildew. The joint is not paintable after curing.
