Waterproofing
Waterproofing consumption calculator
Coverage for brush-applied waterproofing under tiles, in bathrooms, on balconies and in basements, by area and the two-coat consumption rate.
Calculation data
Pick a product and the calculator takes density and package sizes from the manufacturer figures. Or enter your own rate by hand.
Formula
- Material = area in m² × two-coat consumption per m².
- With a margin: material × (1 + margin / 100).
- Packages = material with margin / package weight.
What to consider
- The rate already covers both coats, so do not multiply it by the number of coats again.
- A porous or unprimed substrate drinks more material: allow a margin of 10 % or more.
- Wall-to-floor joints and corners are taped, so add their area too.
Calculation questions
How much waterproofing does a 4 m² bathroom need?
At roughly 3 kg/m² over two coats, 4 m² takes about 12 kg plus a margin: two 7 kg buckets.
Can tiles go straight onto the waterproofing?
Yes, once the second coat has fully dried. Use a tile adhesive compatible with acrylic waterproofing.
