Description

Barvy Pryrody ("Colours of Nature") is a water-dispersion acrylic paint for interior walls and ceilings. It goes over cement and cement-lime plasters, plasterboard, paper and fibreglass wallpaper, wood, porous materials and primed metal.

What sets it apart

The paint comes in a balanced range of 16 ready-made colours, among them Snow White, Vanilla Cream, Valley of Mists and Forest Heather. It can also be tinted to pastel shades in POLIFARB Color System or with COLOR MIX pastes; a transparent base is available for tinting.

The sheen of 15 is not a separate option here but part of the design: pastel shades read flat on a deep matt, while the soft glow of this film holds their depth and shows the undertone exactly as it was mixed.

Wash resistance

Wet-scrub resistance is class 1 under DSTU EN 13300, the highest of five: the coating does not wear off when washed, even with detergents. The painted surface can be washed no earlier than 7 days after application.

Elasticity and substrate preparation

The film is highly elastic, but cracks and unevenness in the substrate are filled with finishing filler before painting. Fresh plaster can be painted only after 3–4 weeks, concrete after a month.

Where to use it

Children's rooms, kitchens, hallways, offices, hotels, shops: high-traffic rooms that get dirty fast. Class 1 hiding power gives an even tone in 1–2 coats with 2 hours’ drying between them; consumption per coat is 100–150 g/m² on non-absorbent substrates and 150–190 g/m² on absorbent ones.

Limitations

Interior use only. Do not use in areas of direct water contact: the shower zone and the wall right against the bath. Substrate preparation is covered in the Application block below.

Pack sizes

According to the data sheet, the paint comes in 1.3, 3.8 and 12.5 kg packs. Check the shade on a display card or a test patch before ordering: a tinted tub cannot be returned.

How much you need

Area × 125 g/m² × 2 coats = 250 g/m². If the substrate is prepared and one coat is enough, halve it.

  • 4.2 kg covers about 17 m²: one room ceiling or a single wall with a window;

  • 12.5 kg covers about 50 m²: a 16–18 m² room with 2.7 m walls, start to finish.

Application

Preparing the substrate

  • the substrate is dry, clean and sound: free of dust, grease and flaking coatings;

  • old chalk, whitewash and glue-bound paints are removed;

  • fresh plaster needs at least 28 days;

  • prime and level the substrate, a silk sheen shows unevenness and patches: PROFI GRUNT.

Thinning

  • usually unnecessary: the paint is ready after thorough stirring;

  • if needed, up to 5–10 % water, mainly for the first coat or for spraying;

  • stir with a drill and paddle at low revs.

Application conditions

  • temperature +5…+30 °C, ideally +10…+30 °C;

  • air humidity 80 % or below;

  • do not apply in sun, on hot surfaces, in wind or draughts.

Tools

  • roller with 8–12 mm nap for smooth substrates;

  • brush with synthetic bristles;

  • spray gun.

Coats and drying

  • 1–2 coats: high hiding power often makes one enough, the second evens out the tone;

  • between coats: 1–2 hours;

  • fully dry: 24 hours;

  • full wash resistance builds over 7–28 days: leave the wall unwashed for the first month.

After the job

  • rinse tools with water straight away;

  • store tightly closed at +5…+30 °C, do not freeze.

FAQ: shades, cleaning and substrate

  • Does it come ready-tinted?
    No, the base "snow white" is what is sold. Shades from the natural collection are mixed in POLIFARB Color System or with COLOR MIX pastes.

  • What does "over 10,000 cycles" mean?
    It is the number of passes with a wet brush in the scrub-resistance test. The class 1 threshold is 5,000, so the margin here is double.

  • Will it bridge cracks in the wall?
    Hairline ones yes. The film is elastic. Cracks that are still opening must be filled first.

  • How much paint for a 16 m² room?
    Walls 2.7 m high give about 45 m²: two coats need ~11 kg, i.e. one 12.5 kg tub.

  • When can the wall first be washed?
    The film reaches full resistance over 7–28 days. Dry dusting only for the first month.
