Description

DREVOZAHYST LASUR by POLIFARB is a coloured alkyd lazure for protecting and finishing timber and wood-based surfaces.

Impregnation and varnish in one tin

Literally "3 in 1": the formulation combines an impregnation with a varnish. The classic sequence (antiseptic treatment first, then varnish) needs two products, two drying cycles and twice the labour. Here both steps happen at once.

A film, not just penetration

Unlike a pure impregnation, the lazure forms a tough, elastic film that takes the mechanical and weather load while leaving the grain visible.

Weather resistance

Weather-resistant against ageing, moisture and UV, with antiseptics in the formulation to protect the timber. Unlike the IMPREGNAT impregnation, the lazure gives a sealed surface and a deeper, richer colour. Satin-matt finish. For better protection outdoors, one coat of clear IMPREGNAT impregnation is recommended first.

Six shades

Golden pine, teak, dark oak, chestnut, walnut and rosewood, with UV-stable pigments.

Where it is used

Timber facades, gazebos, fences, garden furniture and other structures indoors and out; plywood, hardboard, chipboard and MDF exposed to weather, moisture and UV.

Conditions

Thin with white spirit. Two or three coats, 80–100 g/m² per coat, the next coat after 24 hours. Brush, roller or spray along the grain at +5 to +30 °C and humidity no more than 60%. Clean tools with white spirit. The lazure is flammable. 0.7 kg and 2.2 kg, 18-month shelf life, do not freeze.

How much you need

90 g/m² per coat; budget three coats, about 270 g/m².

  • 700 g covers about 2.5 m²: garden furniture, a door, a window frame;

  • 2 kg covers about 7.5 m²: a fence bay or a small gazebo.

Typical areas:

  • a garden table with benches: 4–6 m²;

  • a 3×3 m gazebo with roof, about 30 m²: 8 kg;

  • 20 m of 1.5 m fence, both sides, 60 m²: 16 kg.

Time matters too. Up to 24 hours between coats against the 16 hours of IMPREGNAT, so three coats means three days: plan for a dry spell, not a weekend between showers.

Application

Preparation

  • strip flaking coatings and the weathered grey layer;

  • sand along the grain and dust off;

  • moisture content no higher than 20 %;

  • treat any affected areas separately first.

Application

  • stir; thin with white spirit if needed;

  • brush along the grain, or roll or spray;

  • two or three coats, each after the last has dried;

  • up to 24 hours between coats.

For even colour

  • test on an offcut of the same timber: the shade depends on species and coats;

  • each coat deepens the colour;

  • work a piece end to end without stopping, or the join will show.

Afterwards

  • clean tools with white spirit;

  • spread out and dry soaked rags;

  • seal the tin; 18 months, away from flame.

FAQ: lazure or impregnation, coats and colour

  • Lazure or IMPREGNAT?
    The impregnation lasts longer, 8 years against 5, and forms no film; the lazure gives a tough film, deeper colour and a sealed surface. For the best result, impregnate first and lazure over it.

  • What does "3 in 1" mean?
    Impregnation and varnish are combined, so two separate products are not needed.

  • Will the grain show?
    Yes. It tints the timber rather than covering it.

  • How many coats on a fence?
    Three.

  • Thinner and clean-up?
    White spirit; it does not thin with water.
