Lacrysil "FIREPLACES AND STOVES" Fire-Resistant Sealant — Silicate Heat-Resistant Sealant up to +1500 °C

High-quality silicate fire-resistant sealant (TM Lacrysil) — specially designed for sealing high-temperature areas! Withstands direct flame exposure, is smoke and gas tight, does not crumble or crack after curing.

Key Features:

  • Base: Silicate (one-component, cures with air moisture)

  • Color: Black

  • Application temperature: +5…+35 °C

  • Service temperature: -50…+1500 °C (some sources state up to +1250 °C constant, peak +1500 °C)

  • Full curing time: 24–48 hours

  • Elasticity: Medium (the joint withstands thermal expansion)

  • Adhesion: Excellent to brick, metal, stone, cement, concrete, cast iron, ceramics, etc.

  • After curing: Fire-resistant, smoke-tight, gas-tight, resistant to direct flame; asbestos-free, does not crumble, does not crack

  • Eco-friendliness: Environmentally friendly after curing

  • Shelf life: 18 months (at +5…+25 °C)

Advantages:

  • Ultra-high heat resistance up to +1500 °C — withstands open flame

  • Smoke and gas tight seal — safety for fireplaces/stoves

  • Excellent adhesion to refractory materials

  • Does not crumble under high temperatures

  • Ready to use, easy to apply

Applications:
Sealing gaps, cracks, joints, fissures: in fireplaces, stoves, chimneys, barbecues, ovens; sealing doors, chimney connections, brickwork, metal elements; repairing refractory structures. Suitable for interior and exterior work in high-temperature zones (not for constant contact with food or water).

Application method: Clean surfaces from dust/grease/old material (wire brush), apply evenly from the tube into the joint (use a gun), smooth with a damp tool. Remove excess immediately. Full curing — 1–2 days (do not heat immediately, avoid moisture during curing).

The professional choice for fireplaces and stoves — Lacrysil "FIREPLACES AND STOVES". Withstands fire, smoke, and heat!

  • Application temperature +5…+35 °C
  • Drying time 24-48 hours
  • Shelf life 18 months
  • Foundation silicate
  • Operating temperature -50…+1500 °C

Lacrysil "FIREPLACES AND STOVES" Fire-Resistant Sealant (silicate-based, black) is specially designed for sealing, caulking, and repairing high-temperature areas where resistance to direct flame, high temperatures, smoke, and gases is required. It withstands temperatures up to +1500 °C (peak), does not crumble, does not crack, and does not release toxic substances when heated.

Recommended Applications:

  • Fireplaces (internal joints, fireboxes, chimneys, wall abutments)

  • Stoves, ovens, barbecues, grills

  • Chimneys and flues (section connections, joints with brick/metal)

  • Metal stove doors, dampers, grates

  • Connections of cast iron elements, fireclay bricks, ceramic inserts

  • Repairing cracks and gaps in fireplace/stove masonry

  • Sealing joints around chimneys, ventilation ducts in high-temperature zones

  • Sealing joints in industrial furnaces, boilers, chimneys

  • Repair and maintenance of solid fuel boilers, potbelly stoves, heaters

Suitable for these surfaces:

  • Fireclay and refractory brick

  • Cast iron, steel, metal elements

  • Concrete, cement (in high-temperature zones)

  • Ceramics, ceramic inserts

  • Stone, natural stone (granite, marble in decorative fireplaces)

Not Recommended For:

  • Joints with constant contact with water or steam (use silicone or MS polymer sealant instead)

  • Aquariums or potable water tanks

  • Surfaces constantly submerged in water

  • Joints subject to constant mechanical friction or vibration (without fire resistance)

  • Food contact surfaces or areas with direct food exposure

  • Exterior joints without protection from precipitation (if full water resistance is needed, use MS polymer)

Important Recommendations Before Application:

  • Surfaces must be clean, dry, free of dust, grease, old sealant, soot, or creosote

  • It is recommended to clean with a wire brush or sandpaper (especially cast iron, metal)

  • Do not apply to damp or very wet surfaces

  • Avoid application during high humidity or rain

  • Apply after cleaning and dust removal — the surface can be slightly dampened for better adhesion

  • Do not apply a thick layer all at once (prefer 2–3 thin layers with intervals)

  • Full curing occurs during drying + the first heating (slow firing is recommended after 24–48 hours of drying)

  • Do not attempt to light the stove/fireplace immediately after application — allow to dry completely

Typical Usage Examples:

  • Sealing gaps around fireplace or stove doors

  • Sealing joints between chimney sections

  • Filling cracks in fireplace or stove masonry

  • Fixing and sealing cast iron grates and dampers

  • Sealing joints between fireclay brick and a metal casing

  • Repairing cracks in the firebox or chimney

  • Sealing chimney abutments to walls or roofs

After full curing (24–48 hours) and the first controlled firing, the joint becomes completely fire-resistant, smoke-tight, and gas-tight. It is not afraid of open flames or high temperatures.

Lacrysil "FIREPLACES AND STOVES" Fire-Resistant Sealant — a reliable choice for fireplaces, stoves, and chimneys. Withstands open flame, smoke, and heat.
