Description

Decor is a one-component acrylic adhesive for mounting light and heavy interior trim.

Immediate grab

Its defining property is minimal initial set: a cornice holds as soon as it is pressed home, so nothing has to be held or propped.

Light and heavy trim

Made for polystyrene and polyurethane items (panels, roses, cornices, borders, insulation pieces) and rated at 1000 kg/m², which covers heavy plaster mouldings too.

PVC and fabrics

Also for wall cladding: PVC panels, woven and non-woven coverings on a foam backing, where the same fast grab keeps the sheet from slipping.

Substrates

Concrete, brick, gypsum, stone, render, chipboard, hardboard, timber, glass, OSB, plastic and metal. Prime porous surfaces first.

Specs and limits

Interior use only. Apply at +5 to +35 °C, service -40 to +80 °C, 0.25–0.5 kg/m², full cure 24–48 hours. White, 0.2 and 0.4 kg, 18-month shelf life, water clean-up.

How much you need

Consumption 0.25–0.5 kg/m². For mouldings, count running metres: a Ø3 mm bead gives about 25 m from a 0.4 kg tube.

  • 0.2 kg: cornice around a 3×4 m room;
  • 0.4 kg: cornices in two rooms, or about ten roses and borders;
  • 0.4 kg spread solid: about 1 m² of PVC panels or fabric covering.

Heavy plaster trim needs a solid bed over the whole bearing face, not a bead.

Application

Preparation

  • strip limewash, dust and flaking paint;
  • prime porous substrates;
  • dry-fit the trim and cut the mitres first.

Application

  • cornices: a continuous Ø3 mm bead on both bearing faces;
  • roses and heavy plaster: a solid bed;
  • PVC panels: Ø20 mm spots on a 150×150 mm grid;
  • butter the joints between pieces with the same adhesive.

Fitting

  • press and hold a few seconds: it stays put after that;
  • wipe squeeze-out before it skins;
  • fill and paint after full cure, 24–48 hours.

Afterwards

  • wash tools with water;
  • cap the tube, do not freeze;
  • 18-month shelf life.

FAQ: mouldings, painting and substrates

  • Do cornices need propping?
    No. That is the point of this product. Press for a few seconds and let go.

  • Heavy plaster mouldings?
    Yes, 1000 kg/m². Use a solid bed over the whole bearing face.

  • Can it be painted over?
    Yes, after full cure at 24–48 hours.

  • Outdoors?
    No. This is an interior adhesive.

  • Will it attack polystyrene?
    No, it is water-based and solvent-free.
