Description

Crazy Grip is a waterproof professional construction adhesive for wall and floor coverings. Acrylic, ready to use, washes off with water until it cures.

1000 kg/m² load

A square metre of cured joint holds a tonne, so mirrors, shelves, decorative stone and heavy PVC panels stay up without plugs: no drilling through tile or finished work.

Zero vertical slip

The adhesive is thixotropic, so a bonded piece does not slide down while the joint gains strength. Nothing has to be propped up for the first few hours.

Six pack sizes

From a 0.2 kg tube to a 12 kg pail. Tubes suit skirting, thresholds and spot fixing; the 3, 6 and 12 kg pails cover full-bed bonding of floor coverings and insulation.

What it bonds

Tile and ceramics, glass, timber and chipboard, OSB, plastic and PVC, concrete, brick, gypsum, rigid foams, stone, primed metal and mineral wool. Indoors and out, -40 to +80 °C in service.

Limits

Apply from +5 °C onto a dry, clean surface. Being water-based, it needs one permeable face: a joint between two non-porous materials cures very slowly. Not for permanent immersion. Shelf life 18 months.

How much you need

Consumption depends on the method: spots about 0.25 kg/m², beads 0.5 kg/m², a full 1 mm bed up to 1 kg/m².

  • 0.2 kg: skirting around a 4×5 m room;
  • 0.4 kg: a mirror or several shelves;
  • 1.2 kg covers about 5 m² of full bed;
  • 3 kg covers about 12 m²;
  • 6 kg covers about 24 m²;
  • 12 kg covers about 48 m².

Application

Preparation

  • clean off dust, grease, old coatings and limewash;
  • consolidate friable surfaces with a deep-penetrating primer;
  • the surface must be dry and the room at +5 °C or warmer.

Application

  • light items: Ø20 mm spots on a 150×150 mm grid;
  • long pieces: a continuous Ø3 mm bead;
  • insulation boards: a perimeter bead plus inner spots;
  • floor coverings: a full 1 mm bed with a notched trowel.

Fixing

  • press the piece home and wipe off squeeze-out at once;
  • support heavy vertical items for 1–2 hours;
  • full cure takes 24–48 hours.

Afterwards

  • wash tools and splashes with water while fresh;
  • cured adhesive comes off only mechanically;
  • store above freezing.

FAQ: load, cure time and substrates

  • Will it hold a mirror without plugs?
    Yes. At 1000 kg/m² a 6 kg mirror has a wide margin, provided the adhesive is spotted over the whole back, not just the corners.

  • How long before loading?
    24–48 hours for full strength.

  • Glass to metal?
    Possible but slow to cure; use an MS-polymer adhesive-sealant for two non-porous faces.

  • Outdoor use?
    Yes, it is waterproof and works from -40 to +80 °C, but not under permanent immersion.

  • Cleaning up?
    Water while fresh; cured adhesive must be removed mechanically.
