Description

LUX ADHESIVE is a ready-to-use professional acrylic adhesive for glass-fibre and other heavy wallcoverings.

Half an hour to adjust

The reason to choose a ready-mixed adhesive over a powder: thirty minutes to slide the sheet, match the pattern and work out bubbles.

Dries clear

Squeeze-out leaves no white marks: essential under paintable glass fibre, where any stain shows through the first coat.

Beyond glass fibre

Heavy wallpapers of every kind, paintable papers, textile and vinyl, non-woven and polyester backings, embossed, structured and tufted papers, jute fabrics: on concrete, aerated concrete, rendered and filled surfaces in dry rooms.

Applied to the wall

Unlike paper-hanging paste, this goes on the wall. The sheet stays dry and does not stretch, so seams do not open as it dries.

Conditions

Dry rooms only, +5 to +35 °C. Dries in 24 hours, service -40 to +80 °C. Milky white wet, clear dry. 2.5, 5 and 10 kg, 18-month shelf life, water clean-up.

How much you need

0.14–0.3 kg/m², depending on the sheet and the absorbency of the wall. Budget 0.22 kg/m².

  • 2.5 kg covers about 11 m²: one wall;
  • 5 kg covers about 23 m²: a 3×4 m room;
  • 10 kg covers about 45 m².

Unprimed porous render pushes consumption to the top of the range; priming pays for itself twice over.

Application

Preparation

  • fill and flatten the wall: glass fibre hides nothing;
  • remove limewash and flaking paint;
  • prime and let dry;
  • a dry room at +5 to +35 °C, no draughts.

Application

  • stir and roll an even coat onto the wall;
  • cover one drop plus 5–10 cm of margin;
  • do not paste the sheet: it hangs dry.

Hanging

  • work top down, smoothing from the centre out with a plastic spatula;
  • butt the seams, never overlap;
  • thirty minutes to adjust;
  • sponge off squeeze-out.

Afterwards

  • dry 24 hours without draughts or direct heat;
  • paint only once the adhesive is fully dry;
  • wash tools with water.

FAQ: application, seams and painting

  • Paste the wall or the sheet?
    The wall. Glass fibre hangs dry so it cannot stretch and open the seams.

  • How long to adjust?
    Thirty minutes.

  • Will it show under paint?
    No, it dries clear. Still sponge off face splashes at once.

  • Bathrooms?
    No, dry rooms only.

  • When can I paint?
    After the adhesive has fully dried, no sooner than 24 hours.
