Description

MS Polymer Universal adhesive sealant holds the part and seals the joint in a single bead.

White or clear, small or large

Four sizes: 50 and 85 g tubes for small jobs, 0.28 and 0.4 kg cartridges for a gun. Clear where the joint shows; white for painting and general work.

One bead, two jobs

Normally you bond first and seal afterwards with a second material. Here one bead carries the load and keeps water and air out: fewer materials, fewer places to fail.

Where things move

The elastic bead absorbs movement, so it suits ventilation plant, facade and sandwich panels, loaded metalwork and window units.

No silicone

No silicone, isocyanates, solvents or plasticisers: no smell once cured and no oil halo around the joint.

Specs

Apply at +10 to +35 °C, service -40 to +100 °C, cure 24–48 hours, maximum joint depth 7 mm. About 15 m of 5×5 mm bead per cartridge. 12-month shelf life.

How much you need

About 15 running metres of 5×5 mm bead per cartridge.

  • 50 g: a one-off repair;
  • 85 g covers about 3 m;
  • 0.28 kg covers about 10 m: a window or shower perimeter;
  • 0.4 kg covers about 15 m.

A 10×10 mm bead uses four times as much as 5×5 mm over the same length.

Application

Preparation

  • clean the joint of dust, grease and old sealant;
  • degrease non-porous faces;
  • pack deep cavities with backer rod to 7 mm;
  • mask the edges.

As an adhesive

  • a Ø5 mm bead or Ø20 mm spots;
  • press and support heavy parts;
  • position at once: open time is short.

As a sealant

  • gun an even bead;
  • tool with soapy water;
  • pull the masking before it skins.

Afterwards

  • wipe fresh material dry;
  • paint after full cure;
  • cap the nozzle; 12 months.

FAQ: silicone or MS, sizes and uses

  • Versus silicone sealant?
    It carries load like an adhesive, takes paint and leaves no oil halo. Silicone is more elastic but is not an adhesive and will not hold paint.

  • When is the 50 g tube right?
    For one-off repairs. An opened cartridge must be used up fairly quickly.

  • Shower cubicles?
    Yes, in clear.

  • Food contact?
    The composition is approved for sealing in food plants: no silicone, isocyanates or solvents.

  • How many metres per cartridge?
    About 15 m of 5×5 mm bead from the 0.4 kg size.
