Description

SUPER FIX is an MS-polymer adhesive sealant: hybrid chemistry combining the strengths of silicone and polyurethane.

Seven products in one

The maker lists them: assembly adhesive, silicone sealant, polyurethane adhesive, wood glue, roofing sealant, acrylic sealant and timber sealant.

A 50-year life

The longest rated life in the range. MS polymer does not embrittle under UV like acrylic, nor yellow and peel like cheap silicone.

Bonds what acrylics cannot

Metal and anodised aluminium, glass, mirrors, painted timber, polycarbonate, acrylics, plastics and PVC. It cures on atmospheric moisture, so two non-porous faces are no obstacle.

Damps vibration

The joint absorbs acoustic and mechanical movement, which suits ventilation mounts, facades, sandwich panels and transport engineering.

Safe composition

No silicone, isocyanates, solvents or plasticisers, hence its use in food plants, shipbuilding and aviation, where silicone is barred for oil migration.

Specs

Apply at +10 to +35 °C, service -40 to +100 °C, cures in 24–48 hours. White, 0.4 kg, 12-month shelf life. Paintable and permanently flexible.

How much you need

A 0.4 kg cartridge gives about 15 running metres of 5×5 mm joint.

  • 5×5 mm: 15 m;
  • 10×10 mm: about 4 m;
  • Ø20 mm spots: about 1.5 m² of panelling;
  • Ø5 mm bead: about 20 m.

Maximum joint depth is 7 mm; pack deeper cavities with backer rod, or the core will never cure.

Application

Preparation

  • clean, degrease and dry the surfaces;
  • pack deep joints with backer rod to a 7 mm depth;
  • mask the edges if needed.

Bonding

  • a Ø5 mm bead along the part, or Ø20 mm spots over the area;
  • join and press; support heavy items until strength builds;
  • open time is a few minutes: work briskly.

Sealing

  • gun an even, unbroken bead;
  • tool it with a spatula wetted in soapy water;
  • pull the masking before the skin forms.

Afterwards

  • wipe fresh material dry; cured material comes off only mechanically;
  • paint after full cure;
  • cap the cartridge; 12-month shelf life.

FAQ: MS polymer, painting and joint depth

  • Why not an acrylic adhesive?
    It bonds non-porous pairs where water-based glue never dries, and the joint seals and damps vibration at the same time.

  • Can the joint be painted?
    Yes, once fully cured. Unlike silicone.

  • Why the 7 mm depth limit?
    It cures on atmospheric moisture; a deeper joint stays raw in the core.

  • Mirrors?
    Yes. Solvent-free, so it will not attack the silvering.

  • Full strength?
    24–48 hours, depending on bead thickness and humidity.
