Description

"60 seconds" adhesive foam is a professional gun-applied polyurethane adhesive for insulation boards, with accelerated grab.

Speed is the point

Ordinary adhesive foam goes tack-free in 5–30 minutes and fixes a board in a couple of hours. This one is tack-free in 3–5 minutes and sets in 5–30. Rows need no propping, and the next one follows almost at once.

Where that speed matters

Vertical and overhead work: cellar ceilings, garage slabs and plinths, where a board slides under its own weight while the adhesive gains strength. Where boards sit on a starter rail, ordinary adhesive foam is enough.

The trade-off

There is almost no time to correct. Ordinary adhesive foam allows up to 15 minutes; here the board must be placed right first time. Mark out and cut beforehand.

Low expansion

100–150 % secondary expansion, less than household foams, so boards stay against the wall. Still allow for lift and check each row with a straightedge.

Conditions

Apply at -5 to +35 °C, can at +15 to +30 °C. Full cure 12–48 hours: do not anchor or load sooner despite the fast grab. 800 ml, gun only, 18-month shelf life.

Limits

No UV resistance; always cover the insulation. Flush the gun immediately after work.

How much you need

An 800 ml can covers about 10–12 m².

  • a 20 m² cellar ceiling: two cans;
  • a 6×4 m garage slab: 24 m², two and a half cans;
  • a plinth around a 10×8 m house, 0.5 m high: 18 m²;
  • reveals and small areas: one can for several windows.

On a 1000×1000 mm board: a Ø30 mm perimeter bead 2–3 cm in plus a central bead, about 4.5 m per board. Bead no more than two or three boards ahead, or the foam will skin before they are placed.

Application

All preparation up front

  • clean, dry and prime the substrate;
  • mark and cut every board beforehand;
  • bring the can to +15–30 °C and shake;
  • fit it to the gun.

Application

  • a Ø30 mm perimeter bead 2–3 cm in plus a central bead;
  • bead no more than two or three boards ahead;
  • wait 1–2 minutes and place;
  • place accurately first time: after 3–5 minutes it will not move.

Checking

  • straightedge every row immediately;
  • set in 5–30 minutes, so there is no time to correct;
  • fill board joints with the same foam.

Then

  • anchor after full cure, 12–48 hours;
  • trim once set;
  • cover with the reinforced coat;
  • flush the gun at once.

FAQ: speed, correction and anchors

  • Does it really grab in 60 seconds?
    The name reflects initial grab; the rated figures are tack-free in 3–5 minutes, set in 5–30, full cure 12–48 hours.

  • When to choose it?
    When boards slide: ceilings, slabs, plinths without a starter rail.

  • Correction time?
    Effectively none. Place it right first time.

  • When can anchors go in?
    After full cure, 12–48 hours.

  • Below zero?
    From -5 °C, narrower than the -10 °C of the standard adhesive foam.
