Description

Professional adhesive foam is an aerosol polyurethane adhesive for fixing EPS and polyurethane insulation boards.

A can instead of a bag

One 800 ml can covers 12–14 m² of board and gives up to 30 running metres of bead. The same area in cement adhesive means a 25 kg bag to carry, mix, use within its pot life and wash out, plus its weight on the facade.

Two hours instead of a day

Minimum fixing time is two hours, after which boards can be drilled for anchors or built on. Cement adhesive needs a day, turning one day of work into two.

Low shrinkage, little expansion

Only 15–30 % secondary expansion. Growing foam pushes boards off the wall and turns a flat plane into a wave; low shrinkage keeps each board where it was pressed.

Adhesion as a figure

Concrete to XPS above 0.33 MPa: a rated value, not a claim of "strong adhesion".

Working times

Open time up to 5 minutes to bead and place the board; correction time up to 15 minutes; minimum fixing two hours.

Conditions and limits

Apply at -10 to +35 °C with the can at +15 to +30 °C. Service -60 to +100 °C, 800 ml, gun only. No UV resistance: exposed areas must be covered by the finish.

How much you need

An 800 ml can covers 12–14 m² or up to 30 running metres. Budget 13 m² per can.

  • a 50 m² facade: four cans;
  • a plinth around a 10×8 m house, 0.5 m high: 18 m², one and a half cans;
  • a 3×1.5 m loggia including ceiling and floor: about 12 m², one can;
  • a 20 m² garage slab: two cans.

On a 1000×1000 mm board, run a Ø30 mm bead around the perimeter 2–3 cm in from the edge plus one diagonal or central bead: about 4.5 m per board, so six or seven boards per can.

Application

Preparation

  • a sound, dry, dust-free substrate;
  • prime friable surfaces;
  • bring the can to +15–30 °C and shake 20–30 times;
  • fit it to the gun.

Application

  • a Ø30 mm bead around the board, 2–3 cm in from the edge;
  • plus one central or diagonal bead;
  • wait 1–2 minutes for the foam to rise;
  • place and press: open time is only 5 minutes.

Levelling

  • check each row with a straightedge immediately;
  • boards can be adjusted for up to 15 minutes;
  • fill board joints with the same foam.

Then

  • no anchors before two hours;
  • trim surplus once cured;
  • never leave foam exposed: reinforce and finish to the facade specification;
  • flush the gun immediately after work.

FAQ: replacing mortar, anchors and expansion

  • Does it replace cement adhesive?
    For bonding boards, yes. Anchors and the reinforced coat still follow the facade specification.

  • How many cans for 50 m²?
    Four.

  • When can anchors go in?
    After two hours.

  • Will the foam push boards off the wall?
    No. 15–30 % expansion, which is exactly why adhesive foam differs from ordinary gun foam.

  • Winter?
    Yes, from -10 °C, with a warm can.
